California high school girls' softball team forfeits tournament game to attend father/daughter dance

As many of us know that there is more to life than sports and that causes stories like the below one to be a little bit more special.

Over the weekend, the St. Lucy's softball team (Glendora, California) was playing in the Brea Olinda tournament and won their first game against Capistrano Valley to move on in the winner's bracket of the tournament.

However, issues arose when their next scheduled game was set for Saturday night which caused a direct conflict with the annual St. Lucy’s Father-Daughter Senior Dance at the same time. Since the squad would be short of players and the tournament director refused to change the time, St. Lucy's was forced to decide between the tournament and the dance.

In the end, instead of forcing his players to decide head coach Ryan Nuveman told them to go to the dance:
"You guys are all going to the dance!” Coach Nuveman ordered, an executive decision timed perfectly. “Go dance with your fathers.”
Cheers to you, Mr. Nuveman.
