For many college football players, waiting for the call during the NFL Draft is one of the most-nerve racking things in the world.
Rutgers wide receiver Mohamed Sanu appeared that he didn't have to wait much longer during the 2012 NFL Draft as he called by someone saying that they worked for Cincinnati Bengals and that he was their selection at the 28th pick.
Sadly for Sanu, the call ended up being a prank from a New Jersey caller and Sanu had not been drafted:
“This is a great kid, I guarantee you, and someone played a cruel joke on him,” Sanu’s agent Mike McCartney, who tweeted that Sanu would be a Bengal before the true pick was known, told Peter King of SI.com. “It is unreal that someone would do that, but it happened.”UPDATE: By a twist of fate, Sanu was selected by the Bengals with the 83rd pick in the third round of the draft.
Per McCartney, Sanu’s in good spirits despite the prank and excited to join a team that does want him.
