Just when you thought that the New York Mets would turn the corner, this blunder from catcher Josh Thole puts them back a couple years.
During a recent game against the Philadelphia Phillies, Mets pitcher R.A. Dickey had laid down a bunt to get Thole to second base. Then for some reason, Thole was duped by Phillies shortstop Jimmy Rollins for told him that the ball was foul.
Thole went back to first where the Phillies trickery got them an easy out:
