BYU holder J.D. Falslev celebrates too soon, game-tying field goal bounces off upright (Video)


In probably one of the most bizarre ending in college football history, the Utah Utes held onto beat the BYU Cougars by the score of 24-21 despite a fan-penalty nearly sending the game to overtime.

After a missed field goal by BYU kicker Justin Sorensen from 51 yards out appeared to end the game, Utah fans ran onto the field and got called for a fifteen yard penalty which gave the Cougars one more chance to sent it to overtime.

So, another BYU kicker Riley Stevenson got a chance to win the game on a 37-yard field goal but the ball bounced off the upright.

However,  BYU holder J.D. Falslev didn't see the miss because he was too busy celebrating:
