Last week, a high school football game in Ohio took on a whole new meaning after a kind gesture from teammate allowed another to score his first ever touchdown.
It happened in a game between St. Clairsville and Edison as St. Clairsville senior running back Michael Fern (committed to the University of Michigan) took a sweep play about 52-yards and easily could have scored.
However, Fern decided to walk out-of-bounds at the 1 yard line and allowed a teammate to pick-up his first touchdown of his career after losing his father earlier in the week to a stroke.
St. Clairsville freshman wide receiver Logan Thompson walked into the end zone from one yard out and Fern should be commended for his actions:
