VCU student Lindsay Biggs drains half court shot, wins free pizza for crowd (video)

What's a half court shot worth these days?

Prior to the start of last Thursday's St. Joseph's/Virginia Commonwealth men's basketball game, it turns out that a half-court shot was worth a tasty treat. As part of an ongoing contest, VCU holds a half-court shot contest sponsored by Papa John's that if the lucky participant selected to take the shot makes it, everyone in the crowd gets a free pizza pie.

The lucky participant this time around was 5'11 graduate student Lindsay Briggs and after a couple of practice shots from the three-point line, Lindsay stepped back and drained the shot to earn the free pizza:

The fans in attendance might have gotten a little lucky since Briggs played basketball at Virginia Tech during her undergrad and played overseas for two years in the Netherlands and Israel.
