We posted some pretty incredible basketball buzzer beaters here on Outside the Boxscore but this clip from New York Section 1 AA Championship between New Rochelle and Mount Vernon might deserve a spot to itself.
In the waning moments of what appeared to be a Mount Vernon win with less than 2.8 seconds left, Khalil Edney and New Rochelle looked like they needed a mini miracle.
As New Rochelle attempted to inbounds the ball for a game-winning shot, it was intercepted by a Mount Vernon player who then curiously decided to chuck the ball into the air.
That's when Khalil caught it the loose ball and fired up a shot that ended up being the game winner:
As you can note from the video, the referees originally called it off but after looking at the video, Edney's shot counted and New Rochelle won the championship.
